Violet Nightshade is a Goth Sim who loves all things dark and spooky, especially dead flowers. Throughout the MySims series, Violet serves as a typical resident, a utilities advisor[1], a minigame host, a rival racer in Speedville, a guest to Cyrus Boudreaux's will reading, a potential SPA recruit, a flower shop owner in Autumn Bay, and a member of SkyForce.

Game roles[]

Relationships[]

Poppy[]

Violet is Poppy's older sister. She cares deeply for Poppy, but sometimes can't stand her perkiness and love for bright and cheerful flowers. In MySims Kingdom, she moves to Cutopia to be closer to Poppy. While Violet sometimes regrets leaving Spookane, she would rather be with Poppy. If the player completes the Ninjas Flipping Out mission before 1.23 Jigawatts Required in MySims SkyHeroes, Violet will reveal she only joined SkyForce to protect Poppy.

Lord Daniel[]

By the end of the Cutopia storyline in MySims Kingdom, Violet and Lord Daniel form a relationship, and go on picnic dates everyday.

Sir Vincent Skullfinder[]

In MySims, Violet appears to be unaware of Sir Vincent's crush on her, but the two will get along due to their shared interests. In MySims SkyHeroes, Skullfinder betrays SkyForce by selling the location of their base to the Chaos Pirates, so it is likely Violet resents him for that.

Zombie Carl[]

Violet comforts Carl when he is accused of breaking the Fortunite Crystal.

Olivia[]

Violet and Olivia with Weather in MySims Agents (DS).

The two are never seen together until the credits of MySims Agents (DS), where they are seen dressing up Weather. It is possible they are friends.

Justice[]

In MySims SkyHeroes, Violet acts as Justice's second-in-command and logistics advisor. The two have what could be seen as a father-daughter relationship.

Appearance[]

In every game she appears in, Violet has pale skin and long, black hair with a bang that covers her right eye. She has heavy-lidded black eyes with a singular eyelash, purple eyeshadow, and thin black eyebrows. She also has a small mouth with black lipstick on her upper lip.

MySims, SimCity Creator, MySims Party, and MySims Racing[]

Violet has her hair down and wears a floor-length black V-neck dress with long sleeves, an exposed back, and a purple section with a flower-like pattern on the sleeves and top of her dress. She also wears black shoes and a black chocker with a purple diamond-shaped crystal.

Alternate outfit[]

If a player has Violet on their team while playing Brave the Cave, the host Violet will wear an alternate outfit to differentiate the two Violet from each other. Her alternate outfit is the same as Raven Wright's outfit in MySims: a long black dress with a sweetheart neckline, long sleeves, exposed shoulders, a maroon corset, a choker with a purple pendant, and black shoes.

MySims Kingdom[]

Violet has her hair in a high ponytail with a bat hair tie accessory. She wears a long black dress with a sweetheart neckline, long detached sleeves, exposed shoulders, and a corset. Violet also wears a gray ruffle choker.

MySims Agents (Wii)[]

Violet retains her high ponytail and bat hair tie accessory. She wears a black and light purple dress with short sleeves, light purple V-neck top, and matching light purple trim. She dons a red diamond necklace, and a gray bracelet on her right wrist. If the player sends Violet on Liberty's dispatch mission, Snake on the Loose, Violet will reveal she has a secret snake tattoo somewhere on her body.

MySims Agents (DS)[]

Violet retains her high ponytail. She wears a black dress with shoulder straps, a light purple lace apron, matching arm warmers, a dark gray choker, and black flats.

MySims SkyHeroes[]

Violet retains her high ponytail once again. She wears a muted green hat, a matching trench coat with yellow accents, a black dress underneath, white gloves, and black boots with buckles. Violet also has a badge, a belt, a strap, and a chain across her coat.

In other games[]

Sims 4 - Violet

Violet's trophy in The Sims 4.

  • Violet appears in The Sims 4 as a rare MySims trophy that can be collected by players. Her description reads: "Dark and dramatic, Violet Nightshade nonetheless has a beautiful heart. She does her best to take care of her kid sister, Poppy, even if it usually gives her one of those headaches that sits right above her eye."
    • Before one of the newer updates for The Sims 4, Violet's last name was incorrectly referred to as "Darkshade".
    • Violet's trophy appears again in The Sims Mobile as an heirloom charm.

Trivia[]

  • Violet is one of eleven Sims to have appeared in every MySims Wii game, along with Chaz McFreely, DJ Candy "Supergroove", Dr. F, Goth Boy, Morcubus, Roxie Road, Summer, Travis, and Vic Vector.
    • Roxie and Travis technically also appear in all Wii games, but are absent from the story mode in MySims SkyHeroes, instead being playable in Free Play and Multiplayer.
  • Violet's first and last name are both after flowers. Viola, also known as Violet, is a common flower in the Northern Hemisphere. Solanaceae, also known as Nightshade, is a flower often associated with witches.
  • Violet shares her interests with Crystal in MySims.
  • Violet has a relatively deep voice in MySims, while she has more of a higher pitched voice in all the other games.
  • Violet's profile in MySims states she had a job as a kitten photographer, which she despised.
    • Ironically, in MySims Agents (DS), she owns a pet cat named Weather.
    • Violet is one of four Sims in MySims Kingdom to have lived on a different island in the kingdom prior to their role in the storyline, along with Proto-Makoto, Grandma Ruthie, and Sylvia.
    • Grandma Ruthie's cookie shop in Spookane may be where Violet lived before she moved to Cutopia, since Grandma Ruthie mentioned previously living in Cowboy Junction.
  • On the cover of MySims Racing, Violet is wearing her MySims Kingdom dress, but in the game, she is wearing her MySims dress.
  • After Morcubus is defeated by the star racer in MySims Racing, Violet appears in the cutscene after the Ultimate Cup. It is presumed she quit MorcuCorp.
  • In MySims Agents (Wii), Violet may be older than Evelyn Gray, as Violet remembers the Crown of Nightmares project and how she and Poppy would play at Cyrus Boudreaux's mansion while their mother would work on it with "the others", while Evelyn is surprised when Paul Wisniewski tells her about the Crown. Violet is also aware of who Morcubus is, while Evelyn isn't even aware at first that her father, Michael Gray, worked with him. It could also be that Evelyn was not around for all that as much as Violet was.
  • In MySims Agents (Wii), Poppy says she wants Violet to open a flower shop, which she does in MySims Agents (DS).
    • Violet and Poppy both own a pet and a flower shop/stand between each version of MySims Agents.
  • Violet was originally designed as a member of Specter Squadron in MySims SkyHeroes, as seen in the concept art by Genevieve Tsai.
    • The game hints at her being a member in the past before joining SkyForce, which is supported by the fact that she has Specter Squadron's logo on the bottom of her shoes.
    • This could possibly be confirmed by the fact that she has Specter Squadron's logo on the bottom of her shoes.
  • If the player sends Violet on Walker's fifth dispatch mission, One More Time, she will see Dogwood, Poppy's dog, being kidnapped by Morcubus, meaning that is her fear.
  • If the player sends Violet on Jenny's dispatch mission, Episode X, she will mention that she and Poppy love Starcruiser X and always watched it together.
  • If the player sends Violet on Marlon's second dispatch mission, Magical Disaster, she will mention Cutopia and Spookane, wondering if they were harmed.
  • Violet is much more sociable and optimistic in MySims SkyHeroes than in previous games.
