The Town Hotel is an important building in town. It can be redesigned, but not demolished. Buddy resides at the hotel and is the sole staff member. The hotel is two stories, but only the second floor may be accessed by Buddy and registered guests (in other words, the player cannot use the elevator). New potential residents arrive in the morning at the hotel, but they all leave at night, unless they are waiting for their home to be built. There may be one to five new Sims in the hotel on any given morning, depending on the current Star Level. If all possibilities for Sims at the current Star Level have been exhausted, no one will come to the Hotel unless kicked out or until the star level increases. The palyer may choose one guest to move into town at a time. Once the Sim accepts the player's request to move them in, they will have to find a vacant lot to put their new house in.

History[]

Main article: Buddy the Bellhop (MySims)#The Hotel

According to Rosalyn P. Marshall, the hotel used to have an owner, concierge, maid, but they all left after the Essence Master disappeared, making Buddy the only one to remain at the hotel. However, even after reaching Star Level 5, Buddy still remains the only employee.

Inviting Sims back[]

If the player speaks to a Sim in the hotel, but does not move them in and they leave the hotel, the player can find the Sim in their relationship book and invite them back. They Sim invited back will be at the hotel the following day.

Move-in glitch[]

This glitch apparently occurs when the player invites a Sim to move in, then saves and quits the game. When player get back on the game, they are unable to move in the invited Sim. The game will freeze if player tries to invite in another Sim, and the invited Sim in the hotel won't appear. It will also freeze if the player tries to invite them back via relationship book. No solution has yet been found for this glitch, and it still remains in MySims (PC).

MySims Party (Wii)[]

Buddy owns another hotel where the festivals visitors stay. However, it serves no purpose to the main gameplay, except as a setting for the Bell Hopscotch minigame. Buddy has four workers at this hotel to help him run the hotel and assist in the minigame. They will take the participants' luggage from the counter to the elevator to be brought up to the rooms.

MySims Party (DS)[]

The Vroom Service minigame takes place in the hotel. This is the first time the player can access the upper levels.

MySims Racing (DS)[]

Buddy runs the hotel in Speedville.

Trivia[]

  • In MySims, the town hotel is one of four buildings that cannot be relocated or removed.
    • The others are the Town Hall, the player's house, and the player's workshop.
  • Due to new Sims being chosen at random to stay at the hotel on any given day, it is by far the most common place for Sims to fight.
  • There are other bellhops shown in MySims Party (Wii) during Buddy's minigame, Bell Hopscotch, despite the fact he's the only bellhop in MySims.
    • These bellhops seem to be like clones of Buddy with different hair colors.
  • The hotel music was later used for grocery in The Sims 3.
